Teachers can create more effective assessments by thinking carefully about design. A checklist may be a useful tool that can be used to support the creative process. Making a good checklist involves thinking about questions and evidence. This updated version of a sample checklist for an online discussion activity includes not only sample questions and evidence, but also a discussion of what the questions are asking, and why the questions are important. Also the evidence for the questions is considered in the same manner. What does the evidence mean and why is it important? The discussion cites readings from the CEP813 class on online assessment.
